NEGRONI FOUNTAIN, RITUALS OF DECANDENCE, 2021
STAINLESS STEEL, MILD STEEL, BRASS, COPPER. DRYER, CAP TUBE, COMPRESSOR & MAGNETIC PUMP. REFRIGERANT #134A
This project stemmed from a discussion about the rituals of decadence; bushes of crayfish, champagne towers and what sometimes becomes the spectacle of marriage. In Guy Maddin’s 2003 film ‘The Saddest Music in the World’ alcohol distribution is referred to as the only recession proof industry, and history tells that when we’re down on our chips we congregate in stained-halls; be it either with booze or in leadlight. Why not then a fountainous alter?
